7 Ways to keep the positive energy flowing

It can sometimes be a challenge to keep the positive energy flowing but keeping our energy healthy is just as important as keeping the body and mind healthy. When energy becomes stuck or stagnant, we can start to feel weighed down. When energy flows in a healthy manner, we feel light and at peace.
In this post, I’m going to share with you seven different things you can do to keep the positive energy flowing. The good news is that the mind, body, and soul are all connected so by doing things that keep the body and mind healthy, you’ll also be keeping your soul and your energy healthy. So you’ll find that some of the tips below are like two for one 🙂

7 Tips to help you keep the positive energy flowing
1. Exercise
Exercise isn’t just beneficial for the physical body, it’s also beneficial for your energy. This is because moving your body allows the space for your energy to move as well. There are specific ways to use movement to work on different energy centers but you don’t even need to make it that specific. General movement is going to be good for energy flow. Movement helps to circulate our energy so it can flow more easily in and out of the body.
For example, think about a day where you spent most of it sitting around working at a computer. Even though you didn’t expend much energy, many will feel drained after a day like that. Now think about a time where you felt drained but went to the gym anyway; did you feel more energized after? Assuming you didn’t do a super high intensity workout, I bet you did.
2. Keep your home and workspace clean and organized
Now this doesn’t mean that your home needs to be sparkling clean, but trying your best to keep it generally clean and clutter free can do wonders for energy flow.
This is a really great basic thing you an do to create more positive energy for yourself. There’s a literal entire practice based on around the importance of keeping balanced energy in your home (called feng shui).
And I know it’s not always easy, my living room is also where my dog’s toy bins are and by the end of most days I have at least 15 dog toys on the floor, but I pick them up and the energy in the room feels free again!
If the energy in your home does feel really stagnant, doing a deep clean of your house can be really helpful. I know I always feel a shift in energy when I mop the floors which at most happens every other week, but when I do it, I literally feel like I’m walking more freely 🙂

3. Do everyday tasks with a postive intention
This suggestion has been a powerful change in my own life. There are many things that we have to do in life that maybe we don’t necessarily want to do, like I’m talking even super simple tasks like emptying the dishwasher or going grocery shopping. Since maybe we don’t want to do these tasks but we do it because we have to, we end up doing them but often complete them in a negative mindset such as feeling annoyed etc. Being in this negative mindset is not helping to keep the positive energy flowing so let’s see if we can change it!
Let’s tie this into the previous suggestion and take cleaning the house for example. Do I want to vacuum the house for a half hour? Not really but me doing this tasks allows my home’s energy to feel clear and free like we talked about so I actually don’t mind doing it and can stay in a positive mindset.
Here’s another example for you, I used to hate cooking but once I started eating mostly plant based, I changed how I looked at cooking. I now view cooking as an opportunity to make a meal that will nourish my body (and my husband’s). No joke, this seriously changed my outlook on cooking and now I actually enjoy it. If you knew me back in the day you’d be shocked because my definition of cooking used to be making pasta with butter and cheese.
We can even do self care activities with a little extra positive intention. When I shower I like to imagine that the water is washing away any unwanted energy so not only is my body getting clean, it’s like an energetic bath.
Seriously guys, these simple mindset shifts can change your life.

4. Get outside
What doesn’t nature help with?
Sometimes you just need to breath in some fresh air and connect with nature. Even if you live in a city, maybe there’s a nearby park that you can spend some time in and breath in the fresh air that the plants and trees provide for us.
The breath is one of the major ways we can connect with our energy so by breathing in some fresh air, it can help in allowing your energy to circulate freely.
So try to spend some time outside. Mother nature is healing people.
5. Eat healthy
We’re not going into a nutrition lesson here but in general, heavily processed and greasy foods weigh you down. Not only are they unhealthy for your physical body, they can weigh down you energy and cause it to be more stagnant.
Incorporate fresh fruits and vegetables into your diet is a super easy way to keep the positive energy flowing.

6. Meditate
Of course meditation had to be on this list. Meditation allows you to recenter and realign which helps to keep your energy balanced. It is a time where you can turn inward to allow yourself to rest and reset. It allows you to tune out the external world which is where you can directly work with your energy.

7. Work with your chakras
So this tip is for those that want to dive deeper into energy work.
The chakras are literally a roadmap to your energetic body. Working to keep them balanced helps to keep your energy flowing positively. As you learn about the chakras, your body awareness will start to improve so you will know when one needs some work. This is how I personally work with the chakras, I know when one needs a little extra love and care. Know that this comes with learning and practice.

So there you have it, 7 tips to keep the positive energy flowing. Know that we all have times where our energy will feel stuck or more “negative”. That’s ok, we are only human. Focusing on doing what you can to create more positive energy in your life is amazing, you don’t have to be perfect at it.
