Holistic living is meant to help you feel more connected, grounded, and at peace; not overwhelmed. Here we’re simplifying this lifestyle with four daily reminders for holistic living so that you can embrace this way of living with ease!
What Is Holistic Living?
Holistic living is a wellness practice that goes beyond just keeping the body healthy. While caring for your body is important, you are more than just a body. Holistic living means caring for your entire being and recognizing the deep connection between your body, mind, and soul.

In this post, you’ll find four daily reminders for holistic living: one overarching reminder, followed by three more specific ones; one for your body, one for your mind, and one for your soul.
Your 4 Daily Reminders For Holistic Living
1. When you care for one part of your being, you support the whole.
I know it can feel overwhelming to try to take care of your body, mind, and soul all at once. Especially when it comes to the body, where it can feel like an endless list of things to do. But at its core, holistic living is simple. These three parts of you are deeply connected, so supporting one naturally benefits the others.
That means you don’t need to do everything perfectly. You just need to start. A workout supports your physical health, but it can also improve your mood and mental clarity. A few minutes of meditation calms your mind, while also allowing your body to rest and helping with energy flow. This is what holistic living looks like in practice, small, intentional actions that create ripple effects across your entire being.
Instead of trying to do it all, focus on the connection. Let that awareness take some of the pressure off and make this lifestyle feel more approachable.
2. Your body is your home in this human experience.
When you start to see your body as your home, or even as something sacred, it shifts how you treat it. This perspective naturally encourages more supportive choices without relying on strict rules or perfection.
Just like you would care for your house or your car to keep it functioning well, your body deserves that same level of care. That doesn’t mean being perfect. It means choosing supportive habits more often than not such as eating nourishing foods, taking time for regular movement, and prioritizing rest.
This small mindset shift, “my body is my home” or “my body is a sacred vessel,” can guide your decisions in a holistic way. Instead of forcing discipline, you’re acting from a place of respect and care, which is much easier to maintain long term.
3. You have more power than you think over where your attention is placed.
While you can’t control every thought that comes into your mind, you do have a say in where you place your attention. We often have more power over our mind than we think, even if it doesn’t always feel this way.
I know this isn’t easy. As someone with OCD, I definitely have moments where my mind feels overwhelming and out of my control. But something that helps is remembering that I can still choose, over and over again, where my focus goes. And I’m not saying this isn’t a replacement for professional support, it’s just a mindset shift that you may find helpful.
This idea is reflected in the second yoga sutra, which teaches us that part of this human experience is learning to work with the fluctuations of the mind, rather than letting them rule over us. We can choose if we feel bound or liberated.
So even if your thoughts feel automatic, you can still gently redirect your attention. You can choose to focus more on peace, love, gratitude, and abundance. And again, this won’t always be easy, but that simple reminder, “I can choose where I place my attention,” can be very powerful for your mindset.
4. You can connect with your spiritual side even in the mundane moments.
Your last holistic living daily reminder is to look for spirit or energy around you in your daily life. This is a simple way to keep a spiritual practice alive throughout your day. And this doesn’t mean you’re literally looking for spirits, rather, it’s about recognizing the deeper connection and energy that exists all around you.
In my yoga teacher training, my teacher described that many people walk around spiritually asleep. When you’re spiritually asleep, you tend to miss the abundance of love, energy, and connection that is always present. By choosing to be more open and noticing things like energy, light, and connection, you begin to feel more spiritually awake.
Some simple ways to connect with this throughout your day include noticing the energy of a fresh spring day, the movement and sound of birds, a flower blooming, or the presence of a truly positive person. Even small moments, like witnessing kindness or someone helping others, can be ways to reconnect with that energy of connection and love.
You may also feel open to receiving signs or messages, but it doesn’t have to look like that. Simply reminding yourself to be a little more aware and open to the energy around you can be a powerful part of your holistic living journey.
Those are your four daily reminders for holistic living. I hope they help make this path feel a little more simple and approachable.
